Bodywork

Bodywork

Please note that Massage is not available in my practice at this time.

What could you do with an hour or more of real, true, deep healing? How would it feel to have your body integrated in a way that the stress and anxiety of everyday life literally melts off your bones, muscles and face?

We are living in stressful times. We all have a million things on our “To-Do” list, which just seems to grow by the day. We run from meal to meeting to workout to family to home to…to… wondering “Will I ever have a moment to just RELAX?”.

The toll this lifestyle takes on our bodies is enormous- heart problems, weight issues, ulcers, lethargy, irritability, injuries…. the list goes on and on….
But there are ways to combat this effect and bring our body into harmony and balance- like bodywork. Through a Bodywork session with me, you will feel integration in a way that brings your body back into harmony, fullness and balance. Through working with the body and meditative exercises, I will bring your consciousness to levels of stillness that will foster healing and growth.
Bodywork is best experienced as a process- you can’t expect to build a house in a day. Likewise, bodywork takes time and consistent sessions to bring the body into balance and maintain a sense of calm within the chaos of everyday life.
My style is influenced by the greatest healer of all- the ocean. You will experience gentle touch complemented by massage with wave like motions and tissue work- all aimed at bringing your mind and body into balance and restore your natural rhythm in order to awaken inner resources for healing.
I am Esalen® Massage Certified, which originates from Swedish massage, sensory awareness, oriental medicine, meditation and gestalt practice. Energetically-based massage, Myo-Fascial Release and CranialSacral Therapy are also included within every session.
Please note that Deep Tissue Massage and Oil Massage is not available in my practice at this time.

Chakra Balancing

Balance Chakras San Francisco

The concept of chakra originates in Hindu texts, featured in Tantric and yogic traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism. Its name derives from the Sanskrit word for “wheel” or “turning”.

Chakra is a concept referring to wheel-like vortices which, according to traditional Indian medicine, are believed to exist in the surface of the subtle body of human beings and other living creatures. The chakras are said to be “force centers” of energy permeating out from a point on the physical body. Rotating vortices of subtle matter, they are considered the focal points for the reception and transmission of energies.

Each chakra is believed to contain different qualities and energies based on it’s location on the body and place within the subtle body as a whole. Different systems contain a varying number of chakras; the most well-known system in the West is that of seven chakras, or the nine chakra system of the Sufis.

When our chakras are out of balance in our subtle bodies, it can wreak havoc on our physical bodies. Conversely, if something is amiss within our physical body, the chakra associated with that part of the body can be affected as well.

One way to handle illness or injury is to work with chakra system and bring it back into it’s delicate, optimal balance and alignment. There are a number of techniques to do so, many of which I have studied in depth and practice regularly on both myself and my clients.

Chakra Balancing is an excellent option if you feel like something is “off” and you are seeking “balance” within your life. It is also a great tool for those who already work with their chakras and are ready to take their work with the subtle body to a deeper and more profound level.

In a session, we start out discussing what is happening in your life that is affecting your health. We then move into meditation so I can begin to receive an intuitive read on your chakra system, where it is balance, where it is not, and what each chakra is experiencing. We then move into the session, in which I progressively work on each chakra, beginning at the 1st chakra, or root chakra, and work my way up to the crown of your head. I gain an intuitive read on each chakra and let you know as we work what I sense is the inbalance, what could be causing it, and how we can effectively bring the chakra back into balance both in the session and after.

By the end of the session, you will feel relaxed, renewed and balanced. Many experience great insight into their life with this type of session, and shifts in physical health and consciousness are often reported for weeks after.

Sessions can be recorded if you wish.

Please Book Online and specify if you would like this type of session. We can also discuss when you come in if it is right for you.

Windows to the Sky

Alternative Therapies Accupressure

Windows to the Sky is a practice based on the ancient Acupuncture points of the same name. Instead of using acupuncture needles, I use my fingers and hands in very precise locations and with exact pressures in the Windows to the Sky protocol.

This very powerful practice is recommended for anyone who feels a need in the following:

  • Dissatisfaction with a behavior, or lack of behavior, in life
  • Loss of a sense or spirit or connection with inner and outer divinity
  • When you feel a need for insight or can not see clearly
  • When you feel you are at a cross-roads in life and wish to work on finding a solution
  • When you are aware of a repetitive pattern or addiction that you wish to understand and/ or break
  • When you have specific physical issues you would like to address such as asthma, tinnitus, anxiety, blocked sinuses, too much heat in the body

Windows to the Sky is often used to treat head symptoms as well, or to connect the head with the heart. They are also sometimes used to bring you into the hypnogogic realm, out-of-body experiences, or into past life regression.

For these reasons, I only use the Windows to the Sky service when a client is ready, either by requesting the service directly, or within conversations prior to a session when we decide it is appropriate.
